”Every wave is unique, and to me, the ocean and surfing is key to a fundamental understanding of nature and balance. I try to produce some kind of visual poetry, in an ongoing documentary project. I look for essence, long term. Surfing is ethereal.”

Thor Jonsson’s photography has been exhibited at Fotografiska Museet – Stockholm and The Annenberg Space for Photography – Los Angeles, where in 2010 he was named one of the world’s top 20 sport photographers. In printed media, Thor Jonsson’s work has been featured in The Surfer’s Path, Huck Magazine, and Modart. Thor Jonsson’s images have been presented at numerous exhibitions in Sweden, Japan, USA, England & France.
